What is the name of the training group(s) that you were/are in?
I was trained in PBSP® during the years 1993-1997 as a member of the 6th Dutch PBSP® training group.
What other education/training have you received?
medical doctor
psychotherapist, psychodynamic
EMDR
How did you hear about PBSP® initially? & Why did you want to become a certified PBSP® therapist/supervisor/trainer?
I got interested in PBSP® during my training with Tjeerd Jongsma in 1985 in Hoog-Hullen, Groningen, the Netherlands working as an M.D. with addicts. I was directly impressed by the quality and the integrity of the work and I promised myself that I would ever learn that!
I feel committed to the work now and also to the development of PBSP® by teaching. So here's my motivation for becoming a supervisor now.
I Trust in the method, convinced about its value, and am motivated to spread it!
What are your other PBSP® involvements?
Since 2000 I participated in the European training group for supervisors, not yet certified.
I'm the chairman of the Dutch PBSP® Association since 1999, (with a break from 2001 to 2002).
What do you think of PBSP® as a therapy process and/or how do you use it in your work?
I am doing 'classical' Pessogroups, but also individual work. Even in teaching I use some elements.
I'm using different frames of reference in my work: apart from PBSP® there is the psychodynamic approach in which I was trained as a psychotherapist. Recently I finished my training in EMDR. I am committed to develop a way of working wherein there's an integrated and continous way of communicating with the cliënt on a cognitive as well as on a bodily level. I'm convinced that the cliënt gets more from the psychotherapeutic work when the charged body is met and recognized.
