at
The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology

The Introductory PBSP® Training Workshop "Holes in Roles for Couples and Families" led by Albert Pesso at the Massachusetts School for Professional Psychology June 18th-19th, 2004 went exceptionally well, as is common with Albert Pesso's workshops and lectures.  The Cumulative Summary of the workshop (below on this page) was taken from the responses the participants gave at the end of the workshop in their Continuing Credit Evaluation Forms.

A 1hr 10 min recording was made of the Introductory Lecture for this workshop; it will be offered as a DVD through this website soon. The participants of this workshop indicated they want further training in PBSP® and also MSPP has scheduled another workshop to take place for June 17th & 18th, of next year.

As a non-therapist I was interested to see, hear the teacher role. As a non-therapist I learned info to help in my teaching role to batterers of domestic violence.

Structures.

Safety.

The theory of holes in roles, the 3 tiers, the profound impact of engaging in this kind of treatment.

Everything.

How we all fall into roles and all have pushing towards filling them. It’s universal. Pesso is great! Role of family history in individual life.

The use of other people in roles to fill out lacking “holes” in your own history and a collaboration that has a real effect, as I have witnessed.

The effect of trauma deprivation and inappropriate role to the development of the child.

12. If we were to do a similar program again, what would you suggest we do differently? ...Keep the same?

Keep the same

Small group is good.

I would have liked more formal lecturing.

Do this program at least annually as long as Al Pesso can come.

A longer program.

More or some handouts.

13. Additional comments, suggestions, or other program topics to consider.

Workshop was extremely exciting. Lecturer was great and extremely informative.

Amazing treat to have the source of these systems here in an intimate group setting.

Perfect! I can’t imagine, given the time frame could be any more effective.

Good balance of didactic and experiential.

The “informal” setting was an advantage. It helped the learning to go on spontaneously and constantly. Excellent.
