2007 Message and quote from the workshop coordinator, Carlos Fugas, on why he started this new PBSP® training group.
"Before I went to the workshop [in NH] with Al Pesso last July [2006], I had already seen the impact of PBSP® in patients through the work of our Dutch friends, but there and then I felt the change in me, both on personal and professional ways and decided that I had to bring that quiet and effective approach to Portugal, if possible. Gladly, Al agreed to come to our small country and a new adventure will start, full of meaning, to a group of health professionals that are eager to learn, next May in Lisbon."

October 30, 2006 Update
New PBSP® Training in Portugal
The coordinator of this group, Carlos Fugas, is also the clinical director of a therapeutic community (tc) and halfway house called Lugar da Manhã. Lugar da Manhã is a Therapeutic Community and halfway house with a capacity of 49 residents program started in 1992 and is highly recognized in Portugal This group is currently working to prepare the training that starts next May of 2007. They are contacting sponsors, preparing a presentation text to institutions, and inserting information about PBSP® on their website. The group will have a maximum of 18 participants or less depending on sponsorships.
November 12, 2006 Update
....We have now secured the first sponsor for the initiative, a Spanish company called Pramac, our web site is already promoting and the general mood is of enthusiasm....

...We've been very busy and ....made a press release that was issued in our national radio "Antena 1", we started our institutional mailing to [other Therapeutic Communities] in Portugal and Spain, we also applied to a special fund from our energy company "EDP".
