Dear Mrs. Powell

Thank you very much for your e-mail. The info you have about our activity [lecture by Albert Pesso on December 3rd, 2004] is correct and I agree that it is very limited, sorry about that.

So, here are some further details, feel free to use anything of following info:

(1) The lecture is open to the public, however we have invited many people from the fostering (&adoption) field as well as from the field of helping young leavers from institutions. Altogether it makes about 75 - 80 people. The tickets were sold out very quickly and at the moment there is a waiting list. It is quite obvious that we cloud have organize it for much wider group of people, so maybe next time. So I would say it is for people specialized in substitute care for children and youngsters, who can not live with their biological parents.

(2) The Natama Institute focuses on development of foster care in the Czech Republic (I have to say that as it unfortunately still bears many features of the communist way of institutionalized care for abandoned kids.). I have worked with Albert personally and I have been through "Pesso" therapy myself so I know quite a lot about it. As well Albert's Dutch colleague Iman Baardman has been working with us and he and I have decided to develop a special type of training for future foster care-givers. I would like to discuss this idea with Albert and I hope that there will be some time - I am very positive that the "Pesso Boyden Approach" is excellent for  helping people to understand what abandoned, abused, neglected child needs are like and what foster care-givers can do in order to help such a child.

That is also a topic of the lecture on the 2nd December.

I very much hope that it is just a start (!) and I will put all effort in developing the idea of Pesso Boyden Approach in Fostering further.

(3) The web site is: www.natama.cz . However, at the moment the English section of our web is rather small and does not provide very satisfactory info on our activities and goals. The Czech version is much better and quite informative. It would be good, if people contact us - especially later, after we will have developed  special methodology of integrating Pesso Boyden Approach to fostering, so we could share the experience. But as you see, we are at the very beginning and it is on its way and I need to discuss it in details with Albert and Iman.

I hope that this is of help, shall you need anything else, feel free to contact us any time. I feel very honored that Albert is doing it and I hope for further co-operation.

Best regards
